ATTENTION!!!  CWS ‘11 MOVED INDOORS!!

Due to gloomy forecasts of rainy, cold weather, we have to make some adjustments to the re-scheduled plan for CorbriwoodStock ‘11.  While we are at the mercy of Mother Nature, we have a backup plan that we have elected to fall back on.

On Sunday, Sept. 25, we will go forward with CWS ‘11 indoors, at MOONDOG’S in Blawnox. The music begins at 11:45AM, and runs until about 7PM, with a sneak peek of the Frank Ferraro documentary film to follow. Steeler game on afterward.

You are welcome to bring your own ‘picnic’, but beverages must be purchased at Moondog’s.

So, in a nutshell…..you win this round, Mother Nature. But we are going to  rock-n-roll anyway!! Please share this information with anybody that may have been planning to attend.

Thanks, and see you all on Sunday!

Theme of the Day

WOODSTOCK

Crosby, Stills, & Nash

Well, I came upon a child of God
He was walking along the road
And I asked him, where are you going?
This he told meSaid, I’m going down to Vento’s Farm,
Gonna join in a rock and roll band.

We are stardust, we are golden,
We are billion year old carbon,
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden.

Well, then can I walk beside you?
I have come to lose the smog,
And I feel like I’m a cog in something turning.
And maybe it’s the time of year,
Yes and maybe it’s the time of man.
And I don’t know who I am,
But life is for learning.

We are stardust, we are golden,
We are billion year old carbon.
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden.

We are stardust, we are golden,
We are billion year old carbon.
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden.

By the time we got to Woodstock,
We were half a million strong
And everywhere was a song and a celebration.
And I dreamed I saw the bomber death planes
Riding shotgun in the sky,
Turning into butterflies
Above our nation.

We are stardust, we are golden,
We caught in the devils bargain,
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden.

This summer marks the 42nd anniversary of the ‘Summer of Love’ and its landmark showcase event, the Woodstock Music and Arts Fair. Woodstock occurred between August 15 and 18, 1969. Nearly 500,000 people decided to venture to New York state and participate in a weekend-long music and arts festival. Remember…this was long before cell phones, the internet, texting, CD’s, DVD’s, VCR’s, video games, and generally before digital ANYTHING!  Somehow, people found their way there, and were treated to well-documented incredible musical performances. We will be paying tribute to this historic musical phenomenon throughout the day. Feel free to find your place, man. Let your Freak Flag fly!

Check this web page on September 2, 3, and 4, and we will keep you posted on how the weather will be looking, and, while this could NEVER happen(c’mon good Karma!), if there is a chance of postponement, you will find it here.
